Hotel Golden Inca - Social Responsibility Program 2012 - CSR

Our company is looking for an ethical relationship with all parties related to our business, our customers, our employees, our neighbors, our planet, etc.. We have established business goals towards sustainable development of our society.

Here are some of the things that Hotel Golden Inca makes to be socially responsible:

  • Volunteer Work
    The hotel works closely with some social organizations where guests can help as volunteers. The Hotel Golden Inca donates part of its profits to some of these organizations.

    These are some Volunteer Work options:

    • a) Helping Hands Organization: An organization dedicated to providing education to children from poor and disadvantaged sectors of the city of Cusco.

    There volunteers can help with different tasks, like teaching English, art, math, or just playing with them, because what children need most is to feel loved and valued

    • b) Madre Teresa de Calcuta (Home for children with Mental or physical problems): At this center live around 25 children between 5 and 13 years old, they come from poor areas of the city and from small villages. Most of them have serious disabilities that are the reason why their families can not care children in home, because father and mother need to work to support rest of the family.

    Volunteers can help to prepare meal, feed children, help to brush teeth, etc.

    • c) Madre Teresa de Calcuta (Nutritional Center): This is a center for normal children, they receive everyday around 30 children between 2 and 6 years old, they come from poor areas of the city, they have problems like less weight, they come to this center to receive hyperproteinic diet, learn to read, learn to paint, sign, etc.

    It is a very nice place, here volunteers can help to prepare food, or teach songs in English or Spanish, teach to paint, or simply play with children.

    • d) Small school: They receive children from 6 to 12 years old, they come to this school to learn English, art, math, to receive help with homework, etc.

    Volunteer can help with math, art, English, etc. Or simply play with children.

  • Ecology

    • a) Program "Green Hotel": The Golden Inca, after recycling, separate bottles used of mineral water left by our guests and turn them into small pots that our hotel staff plants on the terrace of the hotel all Saturdays.

    • b) Water saving and reduced chemical use: The hotel has a system that permit our guests decides if change or not of towels and sheets if they consider that are enough clean, so it saves water and use of chemical substances.

    • c) Selection of products that are friendly with the environment: The supply area of the Hotel Golden Inca, is careful to make purchases of products for the dining room, choosing products of high quality, natural products without chemical.

    We have registered all the cleaning products used, buying only those from companies that take care about the environment and its components are not harmful or less harmful amount product that is possible to find in the market.

    We use only aerosols that do not damage the ozone layer.

    • d) Program for renewable energy: The Golden Inca made a progressive program of energy savings, this year 2012 the hotel is changing to 100% of your light bulbs to LED bulbs, which will allow energy savings of 70%, in 2013 the hotel will begin to use energy electricity from solar cells, and also a system of cells to heat water, which will be located on the hotel roof.

  • Concern for our employees

    • a) We have decent working conditions that promote health and safety and professional workers. Workers are offered free breakfast and unlimited and timely manner to consume it

    • b) We have a distribution of points, which allows employees to earn an extra in terms of employability from the hotel.

    • c) We strengthen human values like honesty, and respect for others.

    • d) Our employees value good CSR practices.

  • Concern for our customers

    • a) High quality service, providing nice and comfortable rooms, and a very amical treatment, we are always happy to help guests in everything they could need

    • b) Our clients receive information about prevent risks in the city during their stay, and to avoid health problems such as diarrhea and parasites that are common if preventive actions are not taken.
